Dad’s Belgian Waffles



The Tama-Toledo Lions Club is sponsoring a “Dad’s Belgian Waffles” breakfast at the Reinig Center, 1007 Prospect Drive, Toledo, Iowa, on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  They will be serving all you care to eat waffles, sausages, toppings, & beverages.  Carryouts are available.  Tickets are $7.00 – children age 5 and under are free.  Proceeds will benefit STC Friends of the Middle School.

St. Paddy’s Day Celebration



The Tama County Pony Express Riders are hosting their 4th annual St. Paddy’s Day Celebration on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the Amvets Hall in Lincoln, Iowa.  There will be a BBQ pork dinner from 5-7, a silent auction from 5-9 and a live auction at 8:00 p.m. featuring a 2-night cabin rental at Union Grove Lake, Garwin; 50+ bags of seed corn & beans; a Restonic queen size mattress set, a firearm courtesy of RedLine Firearms; a round bale feeder with loop legs for horses; $100 in beef certificates; a fantasy suite stay at Designer Inn & Suites; and much more.  Milk & Honey will be performing live from 7:00 p.m. to midnight.  All proceeds benefit Easter Seals.

Tama Firemen’s Dance & Steak Supper

The Tama-Toledo Eagles and Auxiliary are sponsoring the Tama Firemen’s Dance and Steak Supper on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at the Eagles Club, 112 E. 3rd Street, Tama, Iowa.  The steak supper is from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Limited Edition will be performing from 8:00 p.m. to midnight.  A $5.00 donation will be taken at the door.

Lincoln Omelet Breakfast



Take a break from cooking (and shoveling snow) and join your neighbors for some great food in Lincoln.  The Lincoln Fire Department will be hosting its annual omelet breakfast at the Amvet Hall in Lincoln, Iowa, on Sunday, February 8, 2015, from 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Rocky Mountain Oyster Festivals


Chelsea is having its annual Rocky Mountain Oyster Festival this Saturday, February 7, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Community Hall, 103 Dudley Street, in Chelsea.  They will be serving all-you-can-eat rocky mountain oysters, fish, beans, chips, and bread – carryouts are available.    There will also be a raffle.

Can’t make it this Saturday? Vining will be having it’s annual Rocky Mountain Oyster Festival next Friday, February 13, 2015, at 5:00 p.m. at the CSA Hall on Main Street in Vining.  Serving rocky mountain oysters, fish, baked beans, chips, and drinks.  There will be games, raffles, and door prizes.


Elberon’s Fish & Shrimp Fry



Elberon’s volunteer fire department and EMS services will be hosting a fish and shrimp fry this Friday, January 16, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at the Community Center, 106 Main Street, Elberon, Iowa.  Come on out to enjoy some great food and mingle with your neighbors.  Recurring event on the 3rd Friday of February, March, October, and November.
