Clutier Bohemian Plum Festival

Clutier will be having its annual Bohemian Plum Festival this Friday and Saturday, July 31, 2015 and August 1, 2015.  Barefoot Becky will be performing live at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.  Saturday is packed with fun events, including a 5k run and walk, a flea market, kiddie parade, grand parade, library auction, street cruise, and kids activities.  Storm Seymour and Starwalker will be performing at 12:00 p.m.; and Richie Lee will be performing at 6:30 p.m.  There will be plenty of Czech bakery to buy, as well as funnel cakes and kettle corn, and Indian Tacos.  The Tama County Cattlemen will be grilling as well.  For more details, go to their Facebook page, “Bohemian Plum Festival  Clutier, Iowa”.

Toledo Farmers Market 2011 (1)

Farmers markets are starting up across Tama County this summer.  You will find lots of great home grown produce and homemade bakery including breads, cookies, pies, kolaches, rolicky, and cinnamon rolls.

The Toledo Farmers Market is on Fridays and runs from May 5 through October 27, 2017 from 5-7 pm at the courthouse square, 100 W. High Street, Toledo.

The Dysart Farmers Market is on Tuesdays and runs from May 30 through October 3, 2017 from 4-6 pm at the city park on Sherman Street, Dysart.

The Gladbrook Farmers Market is on Wednesdays and runs from June 7 through September 27, 2017 from 5-7 pm at the United Methodist Church parking lot, 715 Lincoln, Gladbrook.

Garwin Lions Club Annual Pork Supper

The Garwin Lions Club will be hosting its annual pork supper on Saturday, April 11, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the GMG Community School, 306 Park Street, Garwin, Iowa.  Take outs and delivery are available by calling 515-802-1887 or 641-750-2139 between 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.  Tickets are $8 for adults and $5:00 for children age 10 and under and can be purchased at Carl’s Electric and Lincoln Savings Bank of Garwin.  Proceeds go toward community projects.

Dad’s Belgian Waffles



The Tama-Toledo Lions Club is sponsoring a “Dad’s Belgian Waffles” breakfast at the Reinig Center, 1007 Prospect Drive, Toledo, Iowa, on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  They will be serving all you care to eat waffles, sausages, toppings, & beverages.  Carryouts are available.  Tickets are $7.00 – children age 5 and under are free.  Proceeds will benefit STC Friends of the Middle School.

St. Paddy’s Day Celebration



The Tama County Pony Express Riders are hosting their 4th annual St. Paddy’s Day Celebration on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the Amvets Hall in Lincoln, Iowa.  There will be a BBQ pork dinner from 5-7, a silent auction from 5-9 and a live auction at 8:00 p.m. featuring a 2-night cabin rental at Union Grove Lake, Garwin; 50+ bags of seed corn & beans; a Restonic queen size mattress set, a firearm courtesy of RedLine Firearms; a round bale feeder with loop legs for horses; $100 in beef certificates; a fantasy suite stay at Designer Inn & Suites; and much more.  Milk & Honey will be performing live from 7:00 p.m. to midnight.  All proceeds benefit Easter Seals.
