Clutier Czech Day 2019

.

Clutier, Iowa will be having its Clutier Czech Day on Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.  A Czech bakery will be set up early on Main Street featuring kolaches and other delicious snacks.  The Tama County Cattlemen will be serving from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. along with other food vendors.  The Clutier Firemen will be having their annual hog roast from 5-7pm.

A 5k run/walk will start the morning off and there will be a flea market all day at the ZCBJ Hall.  The veteran, kiddie, and grand parade will all happen before lunch.  TheJerry Beauchamp Band will perform from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Wikid Liker will perform from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.  There will also be a kids tractor pull, library auction, and bike give-away.  A street cruise will start at 7:30 p.m.

Dysart Old Iron Days 2018

Dysart, Iowa is hosting its 16th annual Old Iron Days on Friday & Saturday, July 27 & 28, 2018.  The Dysart Lions Club will be hosting a tenderloin supper both nights from 5-7 p.m.

Friday activities include a car, truck & bike show from 4-8 pm at the city park with 50 trophies awarded.  Monte Wengers will be performing live at 6:30 p.m. featuring classic car tunes.  Saturday morning will start out with a biscuits & gravy breakfast at 7:00 a.m. and a tractor cruise will get underway at 9:00 a.m.

Toledo Stoplight Festival 2019

Toledo, Iowa will be hosting its annual Stoplight Festival on Friday, July 5, 2019 at the courthouse square.  Bring lawn chairs or blankets and settle in for an evening of fun!  Toledo’s weekly farmers market will be happening from 5-7pm.

Festival events include kids water fights sponsored by the fire department, inflatables, and food vendors.  My Fellow Americans will be performing from 5:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. and Straight Up (Seymours) will be performing from 7-9 pm.

Gladbrook Corn Carnival 2019

Gladbrook, Iowa will be hosting its annual Corn Carnival Thursday, June 20, 2018 through Sunday, June 23, 2019.  Open daily will be Matchstick Marvels, the Gladbrook Museum, merchants exhibits, food stands (with sweet corn!), beer garden, midway rides & music and entertainment on Main Street.

Thursday’s events include the collectors’ fair, Little Miss & Mr. Corn Carnival and Corn Cob Queen crowning, kiddie parade, bingo, and live music featuring Country Classic Four.

Friday’s events include a display to remember our fallen heroes, a movie at the Gladbrook Theatre, the Hovick Petting Zoo, grand parade at 6:30 p.m. and live music featuring Vinyl Frontier.

Saturday’s events include Breakfast on Main, a 5k run/walk, tractor ride, sand volleyball, cribbage & pepper tournaments, a waterball contest, golf cart rodeo, a movie at the Gladbrook Theatre, classic car cruise, talent show, and fireworks at 10pm.

Sunday closes out the carnival with a community church service and omelet breakfast.

Double D Rodeo 2019

The Double D Rodeo will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, August 2 & 3, 2019, at the Dennis Dostal farm, 2017 Highway E29, rural Toledo, Iowa.  (7 miles north of Toledo on Highway 63, then 1/2 mile east on County Road E29)  There will also be kids wooly-bully rides at 5:30 p.m., Diamonds N Dust Equestrian Drill Team, a wild cow race, ladies’ goat race, mechanical bull rides, face painting, chuck a duck, sheep scramble, food concessions, and a beer tent.  Lonesome Road will be performing live both nights.  All proceeds will benefit Easter Seals.  For more information, call 641-750-7757.

Lincoln Highway Bridge Festival 2019

The 35th annual Lincoln Highway Bridge Festival will be May 15-18, 2019 in downtown Tama, Iowa.  The carnival will be in town and ready to go on Wednesday.  Popcorn with Police will be on Thursday from 5-7pm at the Tama Civic Center.

Friday’s activities include a brownie sundae bar at the Civic Center, the Tama Citizen of the Year presentation, performances by the Tri-County Community Band, the Harding Street Singers, the STC Middle School Jazz Band and the STC High School Jazz Band.  There will be a street dance at The Pump featuring Final Mix.

Saturday’s activities include the firefighters’ pancake breakfast, a Bloody Mary bar at the Tama-Toledo Eagles Club at 8am, a 5k run which takes runners over the historic Lincoln Highway Bridge, and the grand parade is at 10am.  Entertainment in front of the Civic Center includes performances by the Iowa Steel Band, Gail’s Academy of Dance, a bean bag tournament, a wing-eating contest, and an Abe Lincoln photo booth.  Lots of kids activities are planned as well.

Vining Flea Market & Auction 2019

Vining will be hosting its 42nd annual Flea Market of antiques and collectibles on Sunday, April 7, 2019, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the C.S.A. Fun Nite for the Nature Center 2018

Due to the weather, the Fun Nite has been postponed to April 7, 2018.

Otter Creek Lake & Park will be hosting a Fun Nite for the Nature Center fundraiser on Saturday, March 24, 2018.  Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and a all-you-can-eat buffet meal will be served by “My Mother’s Place”.  A silent and live auction will take place as well, with donations ranging from kolaches, wood working, art, bird houses, pies, jewelry, and crafts.  This year’s program is entitled “Iowa Falcons: A Conservation Story” and will be presented by Shawn Hawks from the Iowa Raptor Project; he will have a live American Kestrel and Peregrine Falcon on hand, to help tell the story of the decline and success of their populations.  For more information on this and other programs at the Nature Center, call 641-484-2231 or go to http://www.goo.gl/aYNLZP.

Dysart’s Shop Hop
